Bloom Art Show, 2026

Earlier this year, I had the chance to showcase a small collection of my work at Bloom Cookies, an adorable Edmonton café just around the corner from my house.

Curating the show was an interesting exercise in finding cohesion. I originally planned to stick to my landscape pieces for consistency. However, I couldn’t resist including some of my Scandi-inspired bird and floral illustrations. The two styles are quite different, but displayed side by side, I think they worked really beautifully together! Together, the pieces were about simplicity, a quiet connection to nature, and (of course!) colour. This show seemed to sit at a cool intersection of Scandinavian folk-art simplicity and the wide-open landscapes of the Alberta prairies.

Beyond the art itself, the show was a lovely excuse to get to know some neighbours. I loved popping in for coffee and casually hovering nearby while someone looked at or chatted about my work. There’s something so rewarding about watching people connect with your artwork in person!
